At eGenesis, Dr. Youd is responsible for immunology research and translational R&D activities to support our programs. Dr. Michele Youd has over 20 years of experience in Immunology and Inflammation research and development and has supported the development of therapeutics from early discovery to early clinical development.
Prior to joining eGenesis, Dr. Youd worked in research areas ranging from stem cell therapy to immune-mediated diseases. Most recently, Dr. Youd served as Associate Director at Sanofi within the Immunology and Inflammation Research Therapeutic Area, responsible for exploratory and non-clinical research of small and large molecule programs for various immune-mediated disease indications including type 1 diabetes, vitiligo, lupus, and transplantation. At Genzyme, Dr. Youd served as a Senior Scientist, performing discovery research on stem cell therapy in type 1 diabetes. As a post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Youd conducted B-cell and Lupus-related research at Biogen Idec and immunoparasitology research at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
Dr. Youd earned a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Florida and received her Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology from Boston University, where she was trained as a B cell immunologist.
