Adrian Hayday, Ph.D.

Dr. Adrian Hayday is the Kay Glendinning Professor of Immunobiology at King’s College London, where his lab focuses on exploring lymphocyte functions within tissues. He has held numerous leadership positions in academia, and is currently an Assistant Research Director at the Francis Crick Institute. His initial work in immunology while at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology pre-empted the discovery of a new class of T cells, gamma delta T cells, whose therapeutic potentials are the focus of Gamma Delta Therapeutics, a biotech company he co-founded in 2016. Prof. Hayday has authored more than 230 peer reviewed articles and several patents, and has received numerous awards and honors, including election to the Academy of Medical Sciences, and to the Royal Society, and the William Clyde deVane Medal from Yale University. Professor Hayday earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry) at Queens’ College, Cambridge, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology at Imperial College London.
